PAOK Draws 2-2 with AEK Athens

Scintillating Jan Breydel Sees Club Brugge Held to Draw by AEK Athens

In a thrilling match at the Jan Breydel Stadium, PAOK Salonika fought back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with AEK Athens. The visitors opened the scoring through Levi Garcia and Sergio Araujo, but PAOK rallied with goals from Chuba Akpom and Diego Biseswar.

The first half was a cagey affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. PAOK had the better of the possession, but AEK looked dangerous on the counterattack. Garcia opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a well-taken volley after a cross from Gervais Yao Kouassi.

AEK doubled their lead in the 55th minute when Araujo converted a penalty after he was brought down by PAOK goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis. However, PAOK hit back just two minutes later through Akpom, who headed in a corner from Thomas Murg.

The home side continued to press for an equalizer and were rewarded in the 75th minute when Biseswar curled a free kick into the top corner. PAOK could have won it in the dying seconds, but Nelson Oliveira saw his header saved by AEK goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas.

The draw leaves PAOK in third place in the Super League Greece table, two points behind AEK in second. Club Brugge, meanwhile, remain top of the Belgian First Division A, one point ahead of Genk.
