Dallas Mavericks' Injury Woes Persist Ahead of Warriors Matchup

Subheading: Doncic, Irving, and Lively's Availability Uncertain

The Dallas Mavericks face a crucial matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, but their roster may be depleted due to a number of injuries.

All-Star Luka Doncic has been dealing with a left ankle issue, while Kyrie Irving is battling a right calf strain. Rookie Dereck Lively II is also listed as questionable with a right knee contusion.

According to ESPN's injury report, Doncic and Irving are both listed as day-to-day, while Lively is probable.

"Luka is improving," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said following Tuesday's practice. "He did a little bit more today, so we'll see how he feels tomorrow. Kyrie is also improving, but we're taking it day-by-day with both of them."

The Mavericks will need all hands on deck against a formidable Warriors team led by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Doncic, in particular, has been averaging 33.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game this season.

"We'll make a decision on Luka and Kyrie tomorrow morning," Kidd added. "But we're hopeful that they'll both be able to play."

The Mavericks currently sit at 25-25 and are in eighth place in the Western Conference. A win against the Warriors would be a major boost to their playoff hopes. However, they will need to overcome their injury concerns in order to do so.
