Dubois Wins Wba Heavyweight Title

Dubois Wins WBA Heavyweight Title

First British Heavyweight Champ Since 2016

Miller Suffers First Career Defeat

British boxer Daniel Dubois won the WBA regular heavyweight title in Miami on Saturday with a stunning last-round knockout of American Jarrell Miller. Dubois, who is now 20-2 as a professional, dropped Miller with a powerful right hand in the 12th round to claim the title. It was Miller's first defeat as a professional, and it snapped his 24-fight winning streak.

Dubois, 24, said he was "over the moon" with the victory. "I've worked so hard for this, and it's finally paid off," he said. "I knew I had to give it my all, and I'm just glad I was able to get the knockout."

Miller, 32, said he was "disappointed" with the outcome, but he praised Dubois for his performance. "He's a great champion, and he deserved to win," Miller said. "I'll be back, and I'll be stronger than ever."

Dubois' victory is a major boost for British boxing. He is the first British heavyweight champion since Anthony Joshua in 2016. Dubois is now expected to challenge for the unified heavyweight title in the near future.
