Two charged over '£1.5m of cannabis' in Peterhead

Police Scotland has charged two people in connection with the recovery of around £1.5 million worth of herbal cannabis in Peterhead.

Officers carried out a search warrant at an industrial unit on the A90 Peterhead to Aberdeen road on Tuesday, June 21.

During the search, officers recovered a significant quantity of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £1.5 million.

Two men, aged 35 and 37, have been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

They are due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Wednesday, June 22.

Detective Inspector Stuart Gray, of Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “This significant recovery of cannabis demonstrates our commitment to tackling the supply of drugs in our communities.

“We will continue to work with our partners to disrupt the activities of those involved in the drugs trade and bring them to justice.

“I would like to thank the members of the public who provided information which assisted in this investigation.
